Hearts to Home Campaign

March 18, 2016

In the Spring of 2012 The Women’s Resource Centre unexpectedly lost our home of more than a decade. Thanks to the support of the community we were able to rally to find  and settle into our present location at 731 Princess Avenue. We have made our new, smaller home quite comfortable and inviting for the women and children in our community, but we are simply outgrowing our cozy space here.  It is a good problem to have in the sense that more women and children who need our services are able to access  them; however, if we hope to expand our services to meet the growing community demand, we need a larger location. Our basement floods on a regular basis  leaving us with a significant lack of storage space—a major problem when our Child & Youth Counsellor must retain all of the artwork completed by her clients until they are eighteen years of age.  We have already reached a point where every available corner is being used to store one thing or another.  Currently our Executive Director shares an office with our Community Resource Advocates consistently resulting in one or the other having to leave her station when confidential meetings are required. In short, we need a much bigger home! We are asking you to open your heart and help us find a new home! Click here to donate!
