Facts about Domestic Violence:

- 51% of Canadian women report having experienced at least one incident of physical   violence since the age of 16.
- Two-thirds of all murdered women died at the hands of their intimate partners.
- 40% of abuse begins during pregnancy.

The Women's Resource Centre offers free counselling to women who have been, or are being abused by an intimate partner and free counselling to children (youth) who are exposed to violence within the family setting.
Women and children (youth) may receive individual counselling or attend one of many support groups offered throughout the year.
There is no fee for counselling.
