Facts about Domestic Violence:
- 51% of Canadian women report having experienced at least one incident of physical violence since the age of 16.
- Two-thirds of all murdered women died at the hands of their intimate partners.
- 40% of abuse begins during pregnancy.

The Women's Resource Centre offers free counselling services to women who have been or are being abused by an intimate partner. There is no fee for counselling. Women can receive counselling or attend one of many support groups offered throughout the year. Current support groups offered include:

- Women Empowered Against Violence
(Supporting Women in their Journey Beyond Abuse)
W.E.A.V. meets Tuesday afternoons from 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
